The Electronics Organizer. When we’re traveling, especially for work, we’ve got ALL of our electronics with us. We might have 2 phones, an iPad or two, a laptop…the list can go on. And most of them have their own individual wires and chargers. And that is where the brilliance of the GRID-IT organizer comes in. Simple as can be, but oh-so-effective, we wish we had thought of it. It’s basically an 8x12” board covered in rubberized woven bands, so you can store your smaller electronics, adapters, wires and keep them organized. No more searching in the bottom of your bag, no more knotted wires. This will fit in you carry-on luggage and most business bags.

Going on a business trip can have its perks…maybe a nice dinner, and a nice hotel. But it also means making sure you are prepared. Is the work I need to bring or present at the meeting ready? Are there any major work fires I need to put out before I leave? Is everything at home in order? And then, at what often feels like the last minute…what am I packing? It can feel daunting. At the time when you often need to look the most professional, you are trying to squeeze everything into a suitcase. So, let’s start there. If you can, avoid checking a bag. It saves you so much time at the airport, especially if you travel often. And, you avoid the risk of losing your luggage, and having nothing with you for the entire trip. Officially, the FAA says your bag needs to be less than 45 linear inches for carry on. Carry-on guidelines do vary by carrier, though a 22” suitcase usually works. Spinner wheels really help rolling, especially when you will also have your work bag filled with your laptop and files. We also like to always keep a separate set of travel size toiletries in a clear bag ready to go. Refill them at the end of a trip, if necessary, while it’s still fresh in your mind. This saves so much time and energy remembering if you have everything. Lastly, have a travel bag ready to go with all your chargers and cords you need for your electronics. If you travel often, it is very worthwhile to have an extra set that, like your toiletries, you just keep packed. Oh, and keep a travel umbrella in a pocket of your carry-on bag…you never know. And now, the important stuff (well, to us, anyway)…what are you packing in that bag? Mixing and matching is the key to light packing. We all know this, but that doesn’t always make it easy to execute.
