The end of one season and beginning of the next is always such a tricky dressing time- you are ready for something new, but the weather usually isn't. So while you begin to daydream of Spring, what are some great pieces you can buy for the upcoming warmer weather that you can actually start wearing now?
During these transitional times of year, there are a couple of guidelines we usually adhere to:
There's no reason to pass on a new shirt in a cheery new color or a lighter weight fabric. Adding a blazer or even chunky wool/cashmere sweater will give you the warmth you need and ground a new Spring piece to look stylishly appropriate for the current time of year.
* Add color.
For Spring, there will be a lot of blues, whites, yellows, and greens. And they look great with your go-to Winter neutrals - black, greys, navy’s, and olives. So that top in a new pop color will look great with core, year-round pieces – wool or cotton flat front pants, and jeans.
* Invest in versatile fabrics and silhouettes.
This is also the perfect time of year to update the basics. Your go-to work pants, cotton twill flat fronts, or favorite jeans may need replacing or a little style update. Same goes for those seasonless wool and cotton blend sport coats, shirts, and ties in your arsenal. Even a pair of new sneakers can help you transition to Spring. These are all essentials that you can wear in the often messy, slushy Winter weather. And they’ll have new life once the sun is shining.
