J. McLaughlin - Carson Trench Coat
X
While we usually think about bulky jackets for the cold weather, a coat that can work as a crucial outer layer is sometimes just the thing. This casual trench coat style from J. McLaughlin is made of coated cotton to shed the rain and snow. It has a zip and button front closure to help keep body warmth in and the wind and rain out. Since it’s unlined, it’s ideal to wear over layers – anything from a sweater to a down vest, depending on the conditions. The navy we’re showing works nicely over a suit or sport coat, as well as outfits that are business casual.

They have a fleece lining that keeps you warm and is so soft against your head. While they are made for skiing, we’ll wear these anytime. And they’re easy to stash in your pocket, so you’ll always be prepared for a temperature drop. This style comes in a few other great neutrals, and you can see the whole assortment here - we recommend stocking up.

UGG® Australia - Genuine Shearling Gloves

4. The Gloves: It is no fun having cold, chapped hands. So, we do all we can to avoid that with the right gloves. Knowing how warm a shearling coat is, these Spanish sheepskin shearling gloves from UGG® Australia are every bit as warm. The inverted seaming is so classic, especially in the chestnut tan we’re highlighting, but the chocolate brown is a deep rich color, if you prefer something darker. Both work with brown, black, or navy.

The North Face - eTip Apex Waterproof ClimateBlock Gloves

Being out in the cold doesn’t stop the phone from ringing (or all the other things our phones do these days). That’s not an issue with these ‘eTip’ gloves from The North Face. Not only will you be able to use your touchscreen devices, the gloves are made from waterproof material that is seriously warm, too. We’re showing the grey/black colorway, and it also comes in a versatile all black that is our recommendation. Tretorn - Stråla Vinter Boots
X
Sometimes, you are more concerned with protection from slush and rain than truly cold temperatures. When it’s one of those days, look no further than these waterproof boots from Tretorn. The upper is PVC-free rubber. It has a micro fleece lining and an eco OrthroLite insert for comfort. The tire-like rubber outsole is great for solid traction. We also like the reflective detail on the heel and sole – it gets dark earlier and earlier these days. The black with citron green is our favorite, but a more neutral classic olive or dark brown is also offered.
