These are a seriously cool pair of jeans. The distressing isn’t overdone, and the wash is a great medium blue, with a greyish tint. The straight, but not skinny, leg gives this otherwise relaxed wash just a little polish so they will work for anything from a casual day watching the game to an easy night out. Needless to say, they go with everything. And, hey, you’ll see this model looks like he’s having a pretty laid back time, doesn’t he?

J Brand - Trooper Slim Cargo Pants

Cargo pants are always a great weekend look. We like this washed black version from J Brand because the slimmer fit really updates a look that’s been around for a while. Wear it with a t-shirt or light weight sweatshirt and anything from sneakers to rugged boots.

Agave - Gringo Jeans
X
If your kids or Significant Other are telling you you need to update your jeans…well, you need to update your jeans. These are the ones to get. This stonewashed Japanese denim from Agave has a modern silhouette with a 17-inch leg opening. So, it’s a straighter leg than you probably have, but the fit is still quite easy. The medium blue fade is a good casual color for weekends. You’ll be happy and they’ll be happy.

J Brand - Mick Garment Dyed Skinny Jeans

Jeans in colors are not only acceptable but current and stylish - not so stylish that you feel like you’re trying too hard, though. We like this dark claret color from J Band because it’s so masculine and dark enough to read almost neutral - almost. It works well with any truly neutral t-shirt or thermal. The fit is contemporary and the leg is slim. Yesterday, we talked about a similar style from Joe’s Jeans, with a slightly easier leg, but similar deep color. Pick one – you won’t regret it.

Save Khaki - Light Twill Bermuda Shorts
X
The biggest weekend of the summer, Labor Day, is coming up. Getting these Save Khaki shorts on sale makes perfect sense. The leg is narrower than the old shorts in your closet, but not at all skinny. The dark olive color is a good neutral and a nice alternative to tan for the end of the summer. Wear it with blues, various shades of white and tans T-shirts, polo’s or button-up shirt. Next summer, you’ll be happy to take these out again.

BOSS Hugo Boss - Loop-W Cotton Print Shorts

Another pair of shorts we can’t resist are from Hugo Boss. The blue/white mini stripe with a fun dobby print is a modern fit with a narrower leg. Looks great with a white, grey, red or blue polo or t-shirt, or even a white linen shirt. If you need a dressier pair of shorts to wrap up the rest of the summer, you won’t go wrong with these.

Reigning Champ - Mid Weight Terry Sweatpants
X
It’s time to throw out those baggy sweat pants you bought 10 years ago. You know which ones we mean, don’t make us come find them. These mid-weight terry sweats have a slimmer leg, which is much sleeker. They are just what you need for trips to the gym, the grocery store and the park – and sitting on the couch without being embarrassed.
