1. The Warm Jacket. There’s a lot to pack for ski trip, especially since everything can be so bulky. This Canada Goose jacket won’t take up much room at all, but it will be one of the warmest things you bring with you, easily keeping you warm into the low 20's– and more when you add layers over or under it - which is easy to do, since it is so seriously lightweight. Check out the video (through the “shop it” button) to see how effortlessly this packs up into a tiny pouch. The flexible fabric insets along the sides and under the arms help to keep it trim and fitted, with a lot of give for movement. There is also a longer version, if you prefer something to cover your bum. Both have hoods to secure over your hat and thumbholes to help keep your hands warm (and look sleek)- it will be worth every penny when you are warm and comfortable on your trip.

2. The Comfy Sweater. When we think of what we want to be wearing when we are relaxing, après ski, soft and cozy is the name of the game. And we can’t think of a better way to describe this boucle oversized cardigan from Velvet. You can wear it with everything, so it’s an ideal packing choice as you’ll be able to layer it over many outfits – any tee, thermal, turtleneck or plaid flannel will work under it. It looks just as good buttoned up over leggings as it does open with jeans or even your favorite stylish sweats. But this is popular (especially at this price), so sizes are selling out. If they’re out, try Velvet’s own site.

3. The Laid-back & Luxe Leggings. Sure, leggings are not only easy to pack, they are easy to wear. Take it up a notch with these cashmere waffle stitch ones from J. Crew. Click through the “shop it” button to zoom in and see the gorgeous thick fabric. In J. Crew’s typical modern fit that works on most ladies, it has a wider waistband that is so comfortable and helps prevent muffin top. And it goes up to XL. We’re showing you grey so you can see more detail, but it comes in a gorgeous navy, as well as a rich espresso brown and timeless black. All will be versatile choices that you will get plenty of use. Add a sweater or flannel shirt and your après ski boots and get yourself a hot toddy.

4. The Cozy Top. Oh, this ribbed oversized cowl neck is simply the best. Thank you, Michael Stars. We just want to curl up on a couch and watch the snow fall in this one. The body is a simple smooth knit, so it’s not heavy, which is nice once you are indoors. But the knit trim on the sleeves and neck give this top the perfect weight. It’s “one size” as many of Michael Stars knits are, so if you’re petite, you may be able to just wear this with leggings. Athletic-inspired pants or jeans of any kind (skinny to boyfriend) will work just as well.

5. The Inviting Scarf/Wrap. Whether you are looking for a pop of color, like this rich purple or an easy neutral (you’ll find several through the “shop it” button), an oversized cashmere wrap will be put to good use on your trip. And you don’t need to pack it – wrap it around you and use it as a blanket on the plane. Not only will it keep you warm, it instantly provides a stylish finish to any outfit, so you’ll love throwing it on for a relaxed dinner in town or at the lodge. The cashmere is super soft and a lovely quality.

6. The Snuggly Warm Socks. We’re not suggesting that these are the technical socks you need for a full day of skiing, but they’re certainly cute and great with your casual wear when you are kicking about town. The sweaterknit is thick, but in cotton, so they are easy to wear with boots. For some more solid colors, J. Crew’s camp socks are amazing.

7. The Après Ski Boots. We just love the moon boot look of these boots from The North Face - they’re a bit more stylish than most functional winter boots, and so comfortable and warm. You can see from the reviews (through the “shop it” button), we’re not the only ones who think so. These boots are water resistant, so they will easily stand up to a walk about town, with some snow and slush. We adore how easy they are to slip on or off with jeans and leggings, making them perfect for sore feet after a day of skiing. And they are lightweight with great traction on the sole.

8. The Perfect PJ’s. PJ Salvage comes through, as they often do, with the ideal thermal cotton pajama’s. Easy, warm, soft…and cute. Check, check, check…and check. The drawstring waist is relaxed, as is the fit of the whole set. From XS to XL, in colors ranging from this soft blush to grey, black and even deep burgundy, you may just want more than one.

9. The Slippers. Slippers are such a cozy little luxury, but they’re not always easy to pack since the soles can take up more room than it’s worth. That’s one of the many reasons these Free People sock slippers are just the thing for a wintery getaway. No hard sole, just a lot of soft cozy Sherpa material with sweater lining. They pack up as easily as a pair of socks, but with lots of extra cushion and warmth for wearing around the house or your room.

10. The Fireside Fun. Yes, there are drinks to be had and that’s surely fun. But when you’ve completed a full day on the slopes, and you’re just relaxing by the fire, how about a game of Apples to Apples? It’s a card game, so it’s not too hard to pack – for adults and kids alike. One person, the “judge”, chooses a red card and tells the group the word on it, like “misunderstood”. Each person in the game then has to choose from her own green cards to find the best match. If you chose, “Michael Jackson” and the judge deems that the best match, you won that round. Simple, good, old-fashioned fun.
