The Ladies’ Spring Accessories Edit

Sometimes it’s the little things that make the big difference, isn’t it? Those finishing touches can take a really nice outfit and make it a great one. They can take your basic go-to pieces and make them look new again. And this season’s fresh crop of accessories will do just that.

Shoes: Oh, Fashion-Powers-That-Be, how can we thank you for the return of the block heel? And in a season when wedges look so good, too, ladies who want to play up a tailored look or a boho look can do them both in comfortable style. Both heel choices can be seen in mule styles (so comfy), and styles that lace-up around the ankles. Ladies, don’t shy away from those laces – they make everyone’s legs look great. If you are tall, go ahead and lace them up towards your calf. Ladies with shorter legs, just wrap the ties around your ankles. Fringe and embellished details, woven leathers, and even denim, create a lot of textural interest in all styles. And if you love your ballet flats, they are still going strong – just change out that rounder toe for an updated pointy toe.

Handbags: The newest story for Spring is the half-moon shape. Also called a saddle bag, they are easy to wear cross-body and come in sizes both big and small. And just like the name implies, they have a rounded shape that gives them a soft feel that works with all the boho and ‘70’s accents in clothing. Those inspirations can also be seen in details like woven suedes, fringe details, eccentric color combinations, and even the use of denim in our bags. On the other end of the spectrum, box shaped top handles and bags with feminine chain straps are simply elegant and beautiful options for a more lady-like look. They look beautiful in neutral and the soft pastels of the season.

Jewelry: Our baubles this season take on a lusciously decadent feel, mixing stones and metals, often in pretty color combinations. All the lace and crochet in clothes are translated into jewelry that is delicate and feminine. Gold, rose gold, and silver are all in favor, and can be worn together. Earrings crawl up the earlobe and dangle in chains (think ‘70’s, but way better). Necklaces look especially stylish in shorter, choker lengths. Conversely, they are equally chic in longer, delicate lariats (that’s a necklace that creates a Y-shape) that can be layered with other necklaces.

Scarves: If seasons past left you struggling to tie your scarf around your neck in that cool, off-handed way, you’re going to love the ease of this season’s skinny and smaller scarves. Less cumbersome, but with just as much style, they easily tie around your neck in light, airy fabrics. Many have a fringe finish, solidifying them as a great alternative to a statement necklace. Of course, larger scarves are still on the scene too, and a great place to add some pretty patterns to pop your outfit. If you really want to do something more fashion forward, tie a smaller square or skinny scarf around your wrist or on your handbag.
