Clothes & Conversation: Women's Fashion Tips
Difena Belted Stretch Cotton Sheath Dress
BOSS Hugo Boss
Sold by: Nordstrom

Fit Guide
Why is it a Find? A simple sheath is always a smart and safe choice. Powerful, yet feminine, the faux wrap styling creates a high v-neckline that is appropriate for any work environment, and flatters any chest size. The modified cap sleeve is also a nice warm weather option for the office – it’s modest, yet cuts the shoulder/top of the arm at a very flattering spot.
Wear it with: If it’s a conservative environment, or you just don’t feel comfortable showing your arms at work, add J.Crew’s cotton Jackie cardigan over this sheath. The high hip length is perfect with a dress, and you can make the orange color the star of the outfit by choosing the cardigan in white, navy, or black. If it’s a more creative environment, have some fun with a little more color by layering on the cardigan in sheer pink or olive. While Neiman Marcus shows it with open, strappy heels (through the ‘shop it’ button), it looks just as good with a peep toe or simple pumps in black or nude. And it comes with that black belt in the picture, which looks great with either shoe color.
Fit Tip: The cotton has a touch of stretch for comfort, and the dress is lined, all ensuring you won’t be wrinkled by the time you get to the meeting, and you’ll have smooth lines. BOSS has a modern fit that is not fitted, so if you are between sizes, you can size down.
Alternatives: If orange isn’t for you, there are some amazing similar dress options to choose from. Vince has a simply classic navy fit & flare dress with a high v-neckline (great if you have a fuller bottom), and J.Crew has a cap-sleeve version in several year round stretch wool colors and an amazing textured tweed version.

The Spring Business Meeting Outfit Guide: Look Professional, and Seasonally Appropriate

With the popularity of last Spring’s Clothes & Conversation about dressing for those important meetings, we’re updating it with some fresh new styles to keep you looking modern and appropriate. You want your outfit to reflect who you are – and how you can fit right in with the rest of the people in the room. No matter your role, these days we are often in situations where we’re meeting new people. You may be meeting with a new client for the first time, making or hearing that first pitch, meeting a new boss or a new team…and those all mean you’ll be making a first impression. A modern, yet timeless look will always give you a powerful feeling, and can become your go-to look for these type of work days, which will help you get ready quickly in the morning – and who would ever turn down extra time?

CREATIVE: Even though the atmosphere has a laid-back air, it’s very important to toe the line and not get too casual – especially when you are trying to make a good impression or it’s a first meeting. If you are certain everyone in the meeting will be in jeans, you can wear them too, but be sure to dress them up with a smart blouse, a blazer, and a great pair of shoes. In cases like these, it’s better to be a bit overdressed than underdressed. Without that affirmation, there are a lot of ways to play with some style, like wearing wide-legged cropped trousers or a shirtdress for casually professional air. In this week’s Fashion Finds, we’ve created 2 outfits that reflect just the right suitable meeting style. SEE THE OUTFITS>>

CONSERVATIVE: If you work in – or a pitching to – a firm that has a conservative environment, you want to fit in and look the part. And tailored pieces can be trickier in the warmer weather. You don’t want them to be too heavy, or overly dark. After all, the last thing you want is to let them see you sweat. At the same time, you do want to give off that polished and utterly professional air. Lighter colored hues or sophisticated patterns in a suit or jacket, along with sleeveless blouses and short sleeve shirts keep you cool, and still create the proper look. Our Fashion Finds for this week create 2 outfits that will give you confidence to stand – or sit - in front of any conservative group. SEE THE OUTFITS>>
